Booking Information

Payments can be made either by telephone or via online banking.

The booking fee is an initial payment of £300 used to secure your accommodation reservation. This will be deducted from your rent payments once you’re living in the accommodation. It is not an administration or deposit fee. Your booking fee is non-refundable in the event of cancellation (unless we are unable to make you an offer of accommodation – then it will be refunded in full).

If you mention that you would like to live with someone else who is also applying, mention their name when booking and ask your friend to mention you in their application. We will do our best to match you in the shared accommodation but there is no guarantee of this as remaining places may not allow it.

We will send your tenancy agreements and guarantor documents. These need to be completed and returned to us as soon as possible.

You need a guarantor living in the UK if you want to pay your rent in three instalments. No guarantor is required if you are paying your annual rent fully in advance.

Once you have made your application, we will respond to let you know the outcome within 14 days.

About my contract

The base contract is for 50 weeks but this can usually be extended. You can claim a discount on the price of your accommodation if you book in advance for more than one year – speak to us for more information.

Unfortunately not – the tenancy agreement binds both you and us for the agreed period, unless you find a replacement tenant for your accommodation.

This may be possible but depends on availability. Contact us to ask.

The tenancy contract continues for the agreed period even you leave your course. It may be cancelled if you are able to find a replacement tenant – or if we are able to find a tenant and no other rooms are vacant. If a new tenant is found, you will be charged an administration fee, which will be a minimum of £50.

Rent and other payments

Yes – please contact us for details about how to arrange this.

Your rent includes your gas, electricity and water. These are provided subject to a fair usage policy. If the usage for your apartment exceeds normal limits, we will advise you on the additional charges which apply. Your rent also includes high-speed internet and WiFi throughout the building, with a wired ethernet connection available in bedrooms. Also included with no extra charge is the use of any communal facilities in your accommodation, such as gym, games room or common room.

If your bank balance is too low to cover your direct debit or cheque payment, we will let you know, and payment will need to be re-arranged as soon as possible. We will charge you an administration fee of £25 and your bank may impose a fine too.

If you watch TV, record programmes or use a catch-up service on any device, you’ll need to buy a TV licence. Information can be found on the TV Licensing website.

No, full-time students are exempt from Council Tax payments.
